Private Lessons

$110 per person (2 people minimum, 4 people maximum; children (age 10+) must be accompanied by an adult)

This is a one-time small group private lesson, open to students of all levels from beginners looking to learn the basics to advanced students looking to learn more about certain techniques.

Example of what can be covered: 

  • How to use a pottery wheel and throwing basics

  • Throw a bowl, mug, or something you request

  • Anything else you’d like to cover in the pottery process

What's Included?

  • 2 hours of instruction with throwing, trimming, or glazing time 

  • Clay, glaze, and tools 

  • Pick two pieces to keep and one glaze choice

  • We will trim and glaze your piece for you (if you want)

Additional Information

  • All materials are provided. You may want to bring an apron and towel

  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (clay comes off in the wash and is non-toxic) 

  • Keep your nails short if possible

  • Your piece(s) should be ready about a month after your private lesson. Feel free to call or email to check that they are ready for pick up

  • We keep pieces for 3 months from the private lesson date and pieces will be removed from the studio after 3 months. We can ship your pieces to you for a $20 fee, email us (info@mudsocietypottery.com) to arrange shipping

Cancellation Policy

  • We have a strict 72-hour cancellation policy on private lessons. If cancelled before 72 hours, the private lesson will be credited back into your account to book for another time. If cancelled less than 72 hours before the private lesson, you will not be refunded.
